Corporate bond

A corporate bond refers to a bond (debt securities) issued by either public or private corporations to raise money for the corporation. When a company needs funds for expansion, operations, or other financial needs, it can issue corporate bonds to investors. In return, the company agrees to pay periodic interest (coupon payments) and repay the bond's face value (principal) upon maturity.
